The procedures to follow for the care of duvets and quilts are the same:
The duvet and quilt can be safely washed at home in the washing machine or using the numerous specialized laundromats.
It will be very important to read the instructions on the label, provided with each individual product.
Let’s see together how to read a label that we will take as an example:
Washing: at 40°C with neutral detergents, by hand or in washing machine. Use abundant volumes of water.
Rinsing: repeated several times until the water runs clear. Incomplete washing and rinsing can leave stains especially on light-colored fabrics.
Bleaching: do not use chlorine-based products, as they irreversibly damage the down.
Drying: spin moderately and, if possible, tumble dry at 40°C. Do not expose the item to direct sunlight.
Ironing: depends on the fabric, however if recommended on the label always use a warm iron.
